The person who works in the business knows the business best. Yet, being a Jack-Of-All-Trades can be counter-intuitive.
For example, if you are an entrepreneur, work in the trade industry, are a chef, an artist or an expert in your field, you may not have time to watch endless hours of YouTube video clips to figure out the latest developments in web design and development, email marketing, creating interesting content, social media and digital media strategy and how to work the back-end of Google Ads (I’m exhausted just writing this down!).
That’s scratching the surface.
Let’s talk mechanics
Okay, I admit. I don’t understand how to fix a car. But I know when basic things go wrong. When it happens, I know what roughly needs to be done and take it to a mechanic to be fixed. On this occasion, I knew the radiator was playing up.
My usual mechanic finally retired (lovely guy), which meant I needed to find another.
The first mechanic told me I had many issues with my car, which needed fixing. It sounded like I needed a new car!
But because I had a certain amount of car knowledge, my gut was telling me he was playing vulture.
Two mechanics later, I met a mechanic who explained why the radiator was playing up. He also divulged some simple tricks to ensure I wasn’t left helpless on some highway if my car broke down. He also took the time to explain a few of other issues that I needed to be aware of for future maintenance.
The mechanic conversed with me in layman’s terms. He built trust and I felt he was looking after my best interests.
He educated me. I felt empowered.
I knew my car and I were in safe hands.

These type of workshops are found online or within your local area.
Staff usually attend to increase their knowledge. This is a cheaper alternative, so costs are shared with other businesses to get the same information.
